Wrapping up June with waffle irons, puzzles, and coding, oh my! We've got the scoop on all the great, free events you need to make it a week to remember. Your long summer days just got a little easier thanks to this week's MacKID event picks.

1. Create and Play with Coding

Turn screentime into education time with a coding workshop from Tech Girlz. Kids will use Scratch to code games and learn new skills. Guilty about too much online time this summer? Just consider it career training. June 27

2. Roller Skate Salt Painting

School's out and creativity is in. Tune in to this virtual event with Michaels and create a unique painting using some surprising household ingredients. Get ready for masterpieces in the making. June 28

Wondering where your local events are?

3. Let There Be Brunch

Or breakfast or dinner when you celebrate National Waffle Iron Day today. Break out this beloved appliance and whip up some treats for the fam, like this simple recipe for pizza waffles. We love the three ingredients and minimal cleanup. They'll just love how it tastes. New favorite holiday, unlocked. June 29

4. Mailtime! Look Who's Got a Letter

The best times of day? Storytime and mail time, of course. Combine their two loves at this interactive virtual read-aloud from the National Postal Museum. These postal pros will have your kids learning and exploring more about the USPS than you thought possible. Now if they could just keep the bills away... July 1

5. Take a Tween Puzzle Quest

Teach your tween to wind down at the end of the day with puzzles. Join friends for some virtual puzzling along with the Chicago Public Library. It might just be the missing piece to a perfect day. July 2
