A Virtual Visit to the Library

By Sarah Boucher, Publisher Macaroni Kid Grand Haven, Spring Lake, and Muskegon March 18, 2020

My kids love to read, and they enjoy trips to the library. However, with not only the school library now being closed, many public libraries are closing too.  Did you know that many libraries have a variety of digital resources?  You can have a virtual visit to your library with just a few clicks!

Here are a few examples of things offered online by area libraries:

  • Digital downloads of books and magazines
  • Digital downloads of TV shows and movies
  • Audio read-a-long books for kids
  • Audio book downloads
  • Online learning courses for people of all ages (including adults!)
  • Online educational games and activities for kids

Visit your local library's website to see what they have to offer.  Most of these services are accessible with your library card number, and some are free to anyone regardless of their location or if they have a library card!
